Hi I'm Sam truth, woke up to find that Anthony Fantano posted my new project "Child" twice on his Twitter.
I'm still pretty shook, worked hard as hell on it and I didn't even know he knew I existed.
First he posted Track 1 "All my Dogs" and I didn't notice for a few hours.
Then he went and retweeted the entire project.
What do you guys think, here's the project:

Congrats bro! Your music kind of reminds me of Frank, just more hip hop orientated. Well done for getting posted by Anthony; hopefully it can lead to your music getting a new - and much bigger - audience.

Thanks man, I get the Frank thing alot.
My voice often goes pretty high when I sing, plus I'm a huge fan so it probably shows haha.

Yo I'm planning to try to go on a independent music run in about two years. If you could answer some Questions I'd really appreciate it man.
How much did the editing for the music video cost?
How Long have you been Putting out Music?
What has Been the Biggest Obstacle so far?

1.I edited this video on a zero dollar budget, the font is actual paper and markers I found lying around and alot of photoshop/premiere , also I borrowed a camera and fisheye!
2. This is my first official release, I've been working on it on and off over 2 years. When I first started I was 18 years old, kinda struggling and homeless, things cooled down over time and I got a crib and polished it all in my own bedroom. First album tingz!
3. My biggest obstacle at the moment is being seen beyond my small fanbase, alot of blogs and new potential listeners glance over me because I'm very new and solo.
Also I don't have many connections in the industry to help me get playlisted or posted by stuff like Fader or Complex, so I'm totally independent. Proud to say I reached 30K spotify streams on my own though!

You can probably try and finesse getting into Complex or Fader by writing to one of their bloggers mentioning that Anthony retweeted your album. Otherwise, you’ll need connects and/or a PR team.

how did you get your small fanbase, idek how to promote
fantano not exactly popular on this website rn king
He’s a big name; a retweet from him is huge, especially for a new artist like OP

That's cool, that's why I offered you to form your own opinion. Any recognition from a larger platform than my own is much needed.
Alot of his opinion are not mine in the slightest.
Hopefully y'all independent artists know that!
Agree with Fantano or not, get your music out there!

My point exactly! Small artists struggle with self-worth and acceptance daily, I get ignored by blogs all the time s***s depressing.
So this is hype for me, i'm genuinely happy even though he gave DAMN a 7.

And you will always get ignored unless you have money - that’s the reality. I also get ignored a lot and I’ve been making music for a while now, too
is this all self produced op?
Yeah I produced and mixed everything myself, learned as I progressed. I'm 21 now, started when I was 17/18.

are you sending this out to a&r's?
how did you get your small fanbase, idek how to promote
Over the years just dropping music and interacting with the fans, I'm super open and honest with everyone and that's how you keep people sticking around. Also I feel like me being completely vulnerable about my struggles and stuff in the music makes them feel closer to me, always tell the complete truth is my motto.
are you sending this out to a&r's?
I got contacted last night by one, it's pretty exciting.
