Does anyone else have like awkward family dynamics? Like that people don't like each other, but more like people don't..gel ?

Interactions feel forced. TBH It might just be me feeling it most since I'm a uber introspective, uber high eq personality.

It sucks too cause it's completely opposite with my friend groups. How I am around my friends vs family is night and day.

Yup recently ive kinda realised i just dont like a lot of people in my family. Probably just cause of age differences, my cousins that are similar age to me are cool. Older people pry too much, cause they have nothing interesting to talk about. Its no surprise i have social anxiety

Yeah kinda. I’m an only child in a small family so every thanksgiving I’ve been the youngest person there by 30 years. I love my family and get along with everyone individually really well but in the group setting it’s like I’m still the baby of the group. Still a pleasant day but there were a lot of years I wished there were more kids around

I’m an only child and our extended family stopped doing big get togethers so I just eat a turkey dinner in my room and call it a day

i have no close bonds with parents or really any family anymore just my friends, mainly cause friends are the only ones who “get it” in todays world

it’s not too awkward with fam but ive always been independent doing my own thing away from family involvement and i think they just glad i’m responsible with myself
