I'm aware of the concepts loosely but am interested on if theres any good reads/books which have explored this in depth.

I'm relatively unfamiliar with japanese philosophy and aesthetics in general and haven't read any books on it so if there isnt a good starting point in relation to aesthetics I'd be interested in that as well

From my understanding that book is primarily based around sword fighting and has a philosophical angle to it. I guess concepts like wabi sabi, mono no aware, yugen etc. May pop up in it but wouldn’t be a focal point.

Those 3 things are what I refer to as Japanese aesthetics. From recollection wabi sabi is the pillar basically

This one looks amazing, dunno if I will buy yet or get someone to cop this for me as a gift:
    au.phaidon.com/store/design/wa-the-essence-of-japanese-design-9780714866963

I saw this one first on amazon but was a bit skeptical because I feel like western writers fetishise often when looking at oriental and middle eastern history/philosophy. Looking into the author tho he seems pretty legit, probably will buy this one.

and this one seems more indepth but good:
