NSAIDs
Tylenol
Phenol throat sprays
Lozenges
Yep I've been taking NSAIDs infrequently I don't want them to start to lose their effectiveness. I should get some throat spray though.
And honestly I was going to take a pic of my throat if it would help but I won't just based on the responses. But my tonsils are swollen with a few bumps and holes on them (the holes were already there but made worst by the enlargement.
What’s the purpose of this comment?

Jaeger in a spray bottle and spray it in your throat to numb them
join zincies gang with zinc lozenges
gargle hot water with apple cider vinegar
gargle soluble aspirin in water regularly to help with the pain if you don't swallow the medication. It acts like a topical cream which can be repeated hourly.

Both tonsils? And how swollen? Like is there still a good amount of space between them? Is it causing you to drool at all or causing saliva to pool in your mouth?
Yeah they just have to send some throat pics and @str8dollaz will heal them
I ask all my patients to send throat pics, regardless of their complaint

There is roughly maybe 1 inch max between them? Not having a hard time breathing. I'm not drooling and there's no pools of saliva. I am very capable of swallowing it just hurts. I'm finding ice cold water to be soothing.

I don't have any complaints, but here's a throat pic anyway

Okay cool, just wanted to make sure there wasn't anything scary going on.
I do think it's worthwhile to go see your doctor, so they can take a closer look and ask more questions to see if they have concern for strep throat vs just a viral URI.
But yeah, I personally find Chloraseptic throat spray to be the best for relieving pain and numbing the area. And I would recommend taking Ibuprofen 400mg every ~6-8 hours (unless you have any history of kidney disease or stomach ulcers, then avoid ibuprofen).
