humanizing Dahmer alone feels very wrong to me and the overall idea of creating a piece of media built to entertain rather than simply inform when real people lost their lives because of this sicko just does not sit well with me.

I think this is a bit different because it really does focus on the victims. The neighbor has a pivotal role in this show, plus the end of the last episode is literally all about the victims. I guess I understand why people are saying it “humanizes” Dahmer but how the f*** do you even humanize a cannibalistic pedophile? I don’t agree that it does but like I said, I see why people are saying it.

It’s no different than true crime dramatization shows before it, why are people suddenly now offended? Netflix has entire Chris Watts and Chad and Lori-Dayell documentaries, why not be outraged about those? At least keep it consistent.

In the third episode right before he kills the hitchhiker the hitchhiker calls him a freak and a f@​ggot and I can't help but think that does nothing but paint a real human who was really taken advantage of and murdered by this guy as a bully and a homophobe. It's disrespectful.
