In the third episode right before he kills the hitchhiker the hitchhiker calls him a freak and a f@ggot and I can't help but think that does nothing but paint a real human who was really taken advantage of and murdered by this guy as a bully and a homophobe. It's disrespectful.
Is that an accurate account or just theorized encounter?
Finished episode 2.
Wondering how accurate his childhood depiction is.
The tadpole gift? Sneaking into the classmates house? “Bonding” over dissection with his father?
Like wow.
And that inclusion of the real phone call at the end is disturbing. Cops are f***ing stupid.
can anyone actually confirm that is this a prestige tv or not can't waste my time on a s*** series

Here's the description of it from wikipedia. No mention of that.
Dahmer committed his first murder in 1978, three weeks after his graduation. On June 18,56 Dahmer picked up a hitchhiker named Steven Mark Hicks, who was almost 19.57 Dahmer lured the youth to his house on the pretext of drinking. Hicks, who had been hitchhiking to a rock concert at Chippewa Lake Park, Ohio, agreed to accompany Dahmer to his house upon the promise of "a few beers" with Dahmer as he had the house to himself.57
According to Dahmer, the sight of the bare-chested Hicks standing at the roadside stirred his sexual feelings, although when Hicks began talking about girls, he knew any sexual passes he made would be rebuffed.59 After several hours of talking, drinking and listening to music, Hicks "wanted to leave and I didn't want him to."60 Dahmer bludgeoned Hicks with a 10-pound (4.5 kg) dumbbell. He later stated he struck Hicks twice from behind61 with the dumbbell as Hicks sat upon a chair. When Hicks fell unconscious, Dahmer strangled him to death with the bar of the dumbbell, then stripped the clothes from Hicks' body before exploring his chest with his hands, then masturbating as he stood above the corpse.61
The following day,62 Dahmer dissected Hicks' body in his basement. He later buried the remains in a shallow grave in his backyard.63 Several weeks later, he unearthed the remains and pared the flesh from the bones.64 He dissolved the flesh in acid before flushing the solution down the toilet. He crushed the bones with a sledgehammer and scattered them in the woodland behind the family home.
It's good but it's also f***ed up.
Because I feel that it humanizes him in a way
I don’t think anything is wrong with that as long as we aren't making his actions seem appealing in the slightest . A lot of f***ed up individuals have lines that lead to how they ended up that way . If done correctly it can be healthy to understand how s*** like this can happen to look out for it without actually excusing it
(Also i didn’t see the show yet just going off of comments. They could be very well not presenting it in good faith)
Watched episode 1. It was solid. I didn’t even realize that was Evan Peters until after watching, so kudos to him

3 eps in and I think theyre treating the story quite fairly. you cant really blame one person in particular at this point in what caused him to become who he was. its a combination of factors and a product of its time mostly
plus there's a decent angle of how cases like these get mistreated or when neighbors speak out they get ignored because of skin color/sexuality and whatnot. ive heard about it quite a bit in similar cases so its good that stuff like this is also brought to light
my brain is so broken from being terminally online that I was watching it thinking 'yeah this part they'll definitely be mad about' 'yeah this is the one they'll use as an example of it being problematic' 'yeah theyre building a certain narrative that wont sit right with some people'

It’s f***ing pathetic man..
People were upset that this was labeled LGBTQ but the reason flies right over their simple heads lol.. there’s f***ing gay actors
Black actors
An entire episode full of deaf actors
An entire episode dedicated to the victims
Native American actors
People just need something to complain about, you’re not wrong for thinking this. If people don’t want to see this because they’re too soft.. there’s something they can do. Don’t turn it the f*** on.
been watching this and can't help but feel like there's something morally wrong about the series as a whole.
humanizing Dahmer alone feels very wrong to me and the overall idea of creating a piece of media built to entertain rather than simply inform when real people lost their lives because of this sicko just does not sit well with me.
He was a human...
This is really well made.
Disturbing but very good.
some girl told me she feels bad for him
There's an agenda to promote empathy for those psychos
some girl told me she feels bad for him
No sympathy for this guy but he clearly had some sort of autism. I think this could've been avoided with real help.
There's an agenda to promote empathy for those psychos
Nobody has f***ing empathy for this psychopath
Cut the bullshit out.
Bro the acting is amazing idk how folks said it was bad
