Do you have a coding background?
Walking into a job like this without any idea of C# or coding may not be the best idea at all
Per op, one of my dad’s co workers says he will teach me the basics.
Says it’ll take about a month and he’s gonna have me make my own project in the end. Just wanted to know how difficult it would be to get hired with no experience.

I mean do you have any prior coding experience? Or is someone teaching you completely from start including basics?
Are you getting taught while working or taught afterhours on your own time?
Are you good at learning this way and actually able to leverage that to new situations?
Hired with no experience will be hard unless its entry level, and then they are likely looking for a degree that is applicable. Without either doubt they'll even consider you unless you are getting an in from the coworker.

You'll need to make a github and have at least one good project you can talk about during interviews
I haven't worked with C# but language doesn't matter much, it's more important what you're coding. It's dope you have a mentor to help you, lean on that
Hugely overlooked skill is googling ability, you'll learn quick which sites have good answer. Being able to grab the important bits and apply them in your code is essential

I don’t have a job there, my job is in a totally different field. This will be my first time working in IT

I wouldn't call a being a C# developer as working in IT, IT is very broad but usually doesn't include coding in that manner

If this your first time with no degree or experience, good f***ing luck bro
Pretty easy to just bullshit your way through the interview process. Just landed a job at Fastly without any experience, they don't suspect a thing

Every interview I've had related to programming in general required me to be at least knowledgable so idk about that. They would see my portfolio and asked me to breakdown and explain what I did to create said thing and it felt like a test to see if someone was was bullshitting. Like if you couldnt explain it well and thoroughly they could probably see right through it that your lying lol
Also whats up w ur name 🤨
One of my dad’s coworkers is gonna teach me the ins and outs of this and I wanted to know how difficult is it to get that first job without any prior experience/degree?
Feel like this type of work can put me in a good spot as far as work/life balance if I apply myself to learning.
Thoughts?
If you get REALLY good at this. You are set for life.
A certificate or two wouldn't hurt either

Just gotta get your bullshitting skills up I guess. I would just get really defensive and flip the questions back on them to assert my dominance "No, tell me about a challenging experience YOU went through and how YOU overcame it". Catches the interviewer off guard and they don't know how to react
What's wrong with my username? Eren Yeager is a character from the Manga/anime Attack on Titan. My avi is a black version of that character

What you actually say during an interview doesn't really matter if you say it with confidence
