Man that thing looked sexy lmao I just preorded it the day it became available not even really caring about the fact that it was basically just a controller with a screen
    dead:

And I live alone so ain't like a bunch of other niggas trying to use the TV so it wont come in handy lol. You can't even at least download a few games to play while offline. Wifi only is bs. Now that would make the s*** worth it but then it would essentially be a handheld ps5 and would cost even more. It is dope though to be out somewhere where there is wifi and be able to play all my s***. It needs more features though they dropped the ball imo. Still half-assed excited about it. Anyone else getting it?

I’m not; I’d rather buy the Pulse Explore earbuds (which seem quite expensive but possibly worth it for the tech it provides).
But I’m also in need of an actual PS5 console, so my money will go towards that, the earbuds maybe, and a couple of games this year.

I hope the Portal is a nice device for everyone who’s interested in it! Design-wise, it looks kinda amateur, but function is more important, so here’s hoping it at least delivers on that front🤞

There’s literally 0 reason to buy this and unless you have every piece of tech in the ecosystem (inzone, edge, vr2 etc) you shouldn’t even think twice about passing on this

Literally the only upside to the portal if you already have a deck is it has adaptive triggers

  • Doesn't make any sense to have one even if the money doesn't affect you

This. Dropped the ball big time on that cuz I wanted a steamdeck anyway. Got sucked in. Maybe I can cancel it still idk. I'll probably just keep it though

I was looking at elden ring performance on the steam deck and was disgusted. I’m thinking about a ps5 slim + psportal combo so I can play elden ring at 60fps, 1080p in bed

  • Nov 7, 2023

I also found the duelsense more comfortable than the heavy steam deck but I’ll wait for reviews anyways. I’m really put off by pc handhelds. There’s always something off about each of them

    well yeah

ones an actual pc with hardware.

another is a $50 tablet with a dualsense hooked up to it.

you can do the same streaming this does on a steamdeck if you want

I was thinking about it but nah. Doesn't seem enticing as I thought it was.

very interested in seeing what kinda hardware is in it and what can be done in terms of modding

Since it's wifi only, I don't understand how it's any different from using the PS Remote Play app on your phone with a backbone or something??
