Not sure about that one… they actually eat cats and dogs over there, the culture is just different.

But what IS racist is how casually people will call someone a mongoloid in an obviously derogatory way - I once called someone out for this in the video game section, saying that’s racist, and they just responded MONGOLOID again, and both their posts got like 3 likes iirc. I can’t believe that flew by, especially in the video game section.

People really do not give a f*** and get mad ignorant when you’re talking about groups that aren’t theirs and actively socially protected. They’re like children, and need some social movement to bring awareness to it before they see the error of their ways. These people would 100% still be using gay slurs if it wasn’t for LGBTQ because they have no sense of perspective and introspection.

It’s one thing when you call someone a mongoloid because you’re an ignoramus, it’s another when you are made aware of the root word and deliberately choose to say it again. But don’t call someone a negroid or a caucasoid in a derogatory way or you will get lit the f*** up (and rightly so! But just to prove my point)

That's not really true, the younger generation definetely doesn't for the most part. The whole cats and dogs thing stemmed from famines and s*** when that was the only options people really had to eat back then to not starve. It stuck around with some rural areas or might be considered a rare delicacy in some parts, but it's not a common thing.

There are people in Africa that eat dogs and cats too, but nobody jokes about that.
