The lack of diversity in production is definitely holding artists back, polo g for example
Yup! He's got the talent and lyrics he just needs better production that can show his versatility.
Bro could make some cinematic stuff like GKMC but probably wont because of the blatant commercialism going on
@giorno_giovanna
have you guys heard of Lil Lonnie? I'll admit he's got some good songs mainly because he's actually GOOD at singing and rapping, compared to alot of these guys who just have NO melody and rely on autotune

Rip
That's honestly super sad bro
He was really talented. His voice was nice
I can forgive a fart808 if it's got a nice bounce to it, but the weak ass claps and snares gotta stop
the street rap wave so trash it got DAVIDP missing fart 808s

It’s hard getting into some of these street rappers tbh
They got a refreshing sound and then boom, they die or get locked up over some stupid s***

If niggas wasn't outright biased on this site towards boom bap, I'd open the discussion that the 90s and the 2000s had their own "same soundy" templates as well that sounded hella tiring to the generation before them.
Nah...you're tripping. The 90's and early 2000's had a huge variety of sounds in the mainstream.
Tribe, Wu, Pac, Jay, Nas, Outkast, Bone Thugs, Lauryn Hill, DMX, Diddy, Neptunes, 50, Em, Snoop, Nelly, Luda, etc. all had their own unique sounds and there was just so much variety in general.
There's still variety in rap but you gotta look waaay harder for a unique sound compared to the past, especially in the last 4 years. Thank God for hip hop blogs, Bandcamp, and Youtube.
No tf it doesn’t just say you don’t like pierre
his sound got stale REAL fast because of same ass drum patterns he uses everywhere and "cRaZy meLOdIeS" actually just being pretty generic synth pads
Pierre really got overtaken by Pierre type beats and i'm glad the industry is already moving away from this sound
Pierre type s*** is only good in small dosage
