not comfortable with calling it an "illness" tbh. its a superpower
i understand how the ability to retain superamounts of information and distill the small details of actual life are superhuman.
however, it has caused a significant amount of suffering in my life.
i went as far as to take ketamine infusions to try to "cure" me from it.

i dont find hyperobsessivity an adaptive trait

bill gates, michale burry, bill gross, tim burton would like a word with you
(those are just some examples)
its an extremely adaptive trait when it comes to accomplishing extremely mindbending s*** that takes obsessive concentration

steve jobs was at one time the world's richest man i think.
he didn't get the proper treatment for his cancer because he thought he could cure it from raw food and a homeopathic regimen.
this is an example of how hyperobsessivity on a topic actually caused an autistic man's death.

right well its kinda a weird example though because it also lead to his incredible success, so not sure if i would chalk that one up as an L

if u read his biography, he led a miserable dog s*** life full of social impairments and calamities. he was emotionally abusive in relationships and could not interpret the social dynamics around him. but yes, he had a form of autism that made him the world's best seller of computers.
It's called autism not asbergers
Can confirm, it’s not actually part of the spectrum. It’s no longer considered it’s only entity.
Oh really? Glad to know u have insight to diagnose me from this thread.
i wasn't tryna invalidate your belief in what you have or even further, diagnose you. i obviously don't know you lmao. but just off the strength of u talking about introversion, awkwardness, and the obsession thing, i said i didn't think u did because those can be pretty neurotypical traits. but hell you very well may have it, and either way, it's good to know/find out that typa stuff abt yourself
i just also know how terrible aspergers/ASD can be for people, both from experiencing it myself and seeing family members who had the disorder to a more severe degree, and when niggas say that have it, my mind errs towards those symptoms. it's just kinda weird to casually think you have it

i don't know if its apporpriate to attribute all his flaws to aspergers though all that may be true.
people are always very complicated and one diagnosis does not define them
good luck with your life

i think you are contradicting yourself here.
is it autism or is it not?

Aspbergers diagnosis was basically dropped entirely. Now you’re just somewhere on the spectrum. I.e. high functioning vs low functioning

Love asparagus

He also said speak with a professional and I get paid for working with autistic children and got certified to do it so I think that’d be me
yeah true, i know a couple kids from youth that got permanently f***ed up off those adhd d**** from misdiagnosis.
but it's also how acceptable it is now to just claim you have a disorder to stand out or something, when a lot of these are actually pretty serious tingz

a bunch of arbitrary people get together every few years to rewrite the labels and manuals
eventually a group of these morons decided to eliminate aspergers and just recodify it as high functioning autism.
personally i like "aspergers" because it differentiates from severe cases like rob deniro's kid whose life is not even close to normal.
