Drake dropped Scorpion wearing suits and button ups with a tapered fade. He dropped Her Loss with braids and baggy clothing. He needs to keep wearing the bullshit lmao

Man I don’t like either of those projects, and drake is still my fav artist of all time. He’s been slipping for a while now.

Considering Yachty is 11 years younger, yeah. It’s cool to take inspiration from the youth in spots, had Yachty help work on Her Loss and they’re good friends, cool. But it seems like Yachty’s influence on him is becoming a bit much

It’s kinda overall though. Music wise, to me he was making the most mature music of his life from Take Care to IYRTITL you can just hear it in the music

Image wise I believe he was more mature in the past too. Around 2018-2019 he seemed the most mature in the way he chose aesthetics and image
    For example:

But something shifted to where he changed and started doing anything like what it is now

And before anyone gets pissed off, this is not to say he shouldn’t be allowed to have fun or do what he wants. I’m pointing out that it seems like he cared to uphold a sort of “standard” of his image in the past and now he just doesn’t care anymore

As a stan I do wish he went to a more “matured” image as he’s getting older and not feel like it’s the other way around though

It is what it is though, regardless he’s cemented as my GOAT

    good post

He’s beyond the point of giving a s*** about social norms and he’s rich enough to not have to

The one thing I hate about the nail thing tho is that

    1)it seems like meme bait
2)it doesn’t even look good with that fit and that yellow is super meh if he was gonna debut the nails look he could’ve did something doper than that. I don’t paint my nails but ijs it looks dumb from my perspective.

Other than that no judgement here

And btw all of the gay jokes on twitter are utterly disgusting to me. How does painting your nails = enjoying p****? I’m just tryna figure out how we devolved as a society.

This is what a straight black male pop star looked like 40 years ago

Niggas fathers and grandfathers rode out to this like hell and had nothing but respect for prince

I just don’t get this generation

Plot twist: That nail-polish is a calculated marketing stunt to get them start talking about him as he prepares to launch this June album

Ultimately who cares about the nail polish, the hard d*** hoodies, etc

We got Her Loss in large part because of Yatchy. You don’t get Jumbotron, Rich Flex, BackoutsideBoyz, treacherous , without him.

There’s a reason why despite him debuting in 09’ he’s still sounding fresh and modernized and it’s because he’s open and willing to accept guidance from young talent and meshes that with his god level talent. So I’m kind of glad that Boat is within drake’s universal right now, he’s provided some fresh new flows cadences and soundscapes to the music

    IMO

Because it’s blatantly some s*** to appeal to certain demographics whether that demographic means the youth or people who wanna give out Nobel Peace Prizes for gender fluidity type s***. There’s nothing inherently wrong with gender fluidity (you still gon get these jokes tho Nigga) buT @op not allowed to be tired of Yachtys influence on him? Lol Yachty quite literally has a nail polish line which is probably how this happened

I just think it’s cop out s*** jumping straight to homophobia like we just can’t think it’s lame for various other reasons with any feminine aspect of it being close to the bottom of that list lol. Hov wasn’t doing lean wit it rock wit it and wearing SpongeBob book bags when he was drakes age lol. Blatantly tryna rebrand to appeal to younger ppl/people like you who think a nigga brave for doing traditionally girly things

    ^^ ALL THIS

Dude can do whatever he wants lol, I only care about the music. I like boat’s ear for beats. Dude brings innovation sounds wise to the boy!

I love how nail polish is what broke the camel's back and not the "I'm a 40 y/o gangster/shooter that may or may not have gotten a prominent black young rapper killed for joking about my mom but tee hee hee hee i'm just rapping" type bars lmao

Why you gotta bring age into this? Are you age shaming bruh?

No that's Drake. Drake is most likely on the bi spectrum. It has been speculated for years now. You are going to have to deal with it Most of yall favorite rappers got their other sides 🌈

You trying to say Drake a closet Bisexual??? He don't f*** wit broke boys. F*** you mean?

  • Jun 5, 2023

    no

  • Jun 5, 2023

also y’all only say this cuz it’s drake, tyler the creator, asap rocky, etc get to experiment with how they dress and present themselves all the time without any judgement (obviously excluding the braindead homophobia)

None of his peers from that era are even relevant anymore. Wiz, wale, Sean, cudi.…with the exception of Cole none of his peers are relevant anymore.

One reason is obv drake flat out was always a better prospect musically than those guys because of skill set

But the other one was that he consistently allowed his skill set to mesh with the current talent in fresh ways. Yatchy, is just the new artist who’s breathing life into drake’s music, a necessary component to longevity if you’re playing the long game like drake is.

Could not care less about him painting his nails man lol

    facts

if he didn't start hanging with Yachty and was still on his 'mature' era you would just have people complaining that he's boring, they can't relate to him anymore etc

    you can't please everyone

This move is a net negative though? He's "alienating" more people than he's making fans, so if he's doing it to appeal to certain demographics then he is f***ing stupid

pretty sure yachty was just like yo bro try this s*** on it's my brand and Drake was like yeah sure

While I agree.. to be fair a lot of artists at this age go through this weird stage. I think Hov went through something similar during 2008-2015 before the whole 4:44 s*** and where he is now. Ye even went through it post TLOP but Ye is someone that was cool and influential that nobody really cared. I feel like Drake during those mature years you listed also felt like he COULDN’T have fun because of the memes etc. I think he’s at a point where he can be himself in the public now
