Water , Shea moisture masque, extra virgin olive oil, but the secret is the masque.

Once you detangle and twist your hair up, your curls will pop once you take your protected style down. The pic on the bottom was a two strand twists out

Warning I’m about to drop a whole natural hair article itt. I can’t say this will work for everyone but this saved me when my hair was extremely dry and it was breaking and falling off and I contemplated cutting it all of. This is an overnight hydration method.

If your hair is dry and tangled, section your hair into 4 equal parts, wet your hair, then take the Shae moisture masque and apply it to your hair. You’re going to use a very generous amount, like so much it’s gonna weigh your hair down.

Then you put a shower cap on that goopy mess of your hair, put a durag or a bonnet (I prefer a bonnet) on top of the cap, then put a clean towel over your pillow and go to sleep. Cuz you do not want that s*** staining ur bed.

The next morning when you wake up remove your durag/bonnet, remove shower cap and begin to break up those 4 sections into manageable pieces of hair for you to detangle. Take a section of hair and press out the excess masque with your fingers. Then detangle that section with a wide tooth combo starting from the ends and working your way towards the roots. If you feel any knots in your hair use your fingers to detangle the knot. Once you comb all the way down to your roots and your comb goes thru your hair with NO snagging , like smooth silk, then your hair is completely detangled, this step is extremely important.

The 2nd most important thing to do is keeping your hair tangle free. So once that piece of hair is flowing like butter thru the comb, use two strand twists to preserve your detangled hair. Then move onto another piece and repeat the process until your entire head is twisted up.

I rarely wear my hair with my curls out unless I manage to land a date with a chic , other than that it stays twisted because I’m in the process of repairing my hair atm.

I really don’t even part my hair with a rat tail comb tbh, I just section it off into 4 puff balls, two in the front and two in the back with some hair bands. Then I’ll take one of the 4 sections and use rubber bands to split it up into 4 equal parts, and get to work.

So when I’m done I’ll have 16 twists . Yes they will be ugly af but the more practice the better they will look. And over time your hair will look fantastic whenever you decide to wear your curls out.

If you wanna look stylish tho, detangle your hair , twist it up, take down hair the following day and see a stylist to give you Travis Scott or ASAP Rocky twists , they look nice and they are durable and protect your hair very well.
