I had 4C hair before I bleached it. You can definitely get your curls defined, you just gotta use a denman brush once your hair is completely detangled and moisturized. You will have to use some sort of holding gel to keep the curls from coiling too much tho.

Healthy 4C hair shrinks A LOT, and has curls so tight you’ll have a hard time getting them to be a wavy looking as other textures. So although it may be irritating dealing with extreme shrinkage and tight curls even after using a denman brush it is actually a sign your hair overall is in good health.

A nice cheat for 4c curls is to get the Travis Scott twists and take them out 24hrs later and your curls will be popping like crazy. If you take care care of your hair you can wait up to a week to take down the braids and still have your curls looking good if you kept them moisturized.

You really been blessing the thread bro. Any way you can help me with hair type and what routine I should follow? I’ve been browsing but I’m honestly oblivious to the hair type thing for a minute and I have crazy dry hair most of the time

If your hair is not chemically processed, then you can simply use the LCO method.

Add Leave in conditioner - Great for detangling
Then Cream - Adds another layer of hydration
    Lastly Oil - Seals moisture

This is a very general guide tho. You will pick the leave in conditioner, cream, and oil based on your hair type. The Shea moisture line is a pretty nice place to start for leave ins and creams, if you find the product too heavy then you can water it down and spray it into your hair as a diluted solution.

For extra hydration you can apply the LCO method, twist your hair up and wear a shower cap and durag overnight and the heat from your scalp will make your hair super hydrated and soft by the morning time. It’s gonna be unbelievable.
