Whats a good point and shoot thats not crazy expensive like the mju 2. Something light and easy to carry but with a strong lens and glass.

Thanks man! I think imma just rummage through all the thrift stores first and buy all the p&s before justifying splurging 150+
And the canon af looks good

for sure that’s what I did too lol, you can find some real gems
r/analog is a great resource too
tbh your best bet would be anything that you can find at the thrift, it really don't matter what it is on 35mm, a yashica T4, mju 2 and contax T~ are nice and all but in no way worth their price for me.
If u are looking fro some direction when buying i'd keep an eye out for any olympus zoom, and tbh, the original mju is really good, it goes fro €50~100 here and i prefer it to my mju 2
Other than that i think the olympus XA/ XA2 is the best you can get for the price (if you dont care about flash) the manual focus and aperture priority on the original XA is just very rare in any point and shoot tbh, especially at that price, and then it's a rangefinder too so it gives the most control for any compact camera
But if it's not full control you are looking for and u just trynna take some pics of your friends with a flash, then yeah anything will do it really dont matter, the higher up you go in price usually just means the camera gets a tiny bit smaller and the aperture a little bit wider, s*** dont matter.
got 2 original mju's and 1 mju2 and ain't pay more than €20 for all of them together
What are some good ones to film footage
canon 514xl is good, ebay has a ton of super 8 cameras for cheap. i think it can get expensive as s*** for just a couple minutes of footage after processing and all that tho

Jeez thank you man imma start looking
ima be honest, a lot of the one you'll find recommended in guides and ect will be very expensive because everyone will want that specific model as that is all they are informed about. for a p&s camera, fast primes are the best but imo zooms are fine bc i just use them for pictures with friends and quick snaps. my advice is just to check out thrift stores
i wish film wasn't so expensive man, i wanna get a super 8 camera for the summer
