All of their products have gone up in price though, some of the higher macs went up by over a $1000 dollars after ram/storage prices went up

Pre the memory/storage crisis a 1tb SSD was like 60-70 bucks & yet apple were charging 400 bucks to upgrade from 512gb to 1tb
