Nah, imo Hangouts or any other Google text based app was always doomed to fail because in order for it to work people that have iPhones have to be willing to move away from iMessage. And that's always going to be an extremely tough sell.

RCS is the big disaster. If that had worked out and been rolled out properly it would have been a game changer.

    RCS?

So wait...the new chargers will be lightning to USB-C and not lightning to USB-A? So that talking point of "Everyone already has an iphone charger."

Will be false because those chargers will not be compatible with this phone. SMH

The provided cable is extra. The talking point of "everyone already has an iphone charger" is referring to the cable you already have (along with the charging brick)
The new cable provided is useful if you have any mac released within the last 5 years you can charge your phone with your laptop, or with the charging brick that comes with the laptop. You can still use your old iPhone cable and charger

I get why people aren't happy about it cause I mean it's just less included s*** but personally it's not really an issue at all

    RCS?

    en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rich_Communication_Services

Basically it was supposed to be the next generation of SMS/MMS texting, therefore it would work universally, regardless of if you had an iphone or Android. But the rollout and carriers and development all dropped the ball

Not excusing the s***tiness but I think the idea is that you have both cables and chargers lying around - the end that plugs into the iphone is still lightning at the end of the day

Most people hold on to their iPhones the longest out of any phone line.

So majority of the people with an iPhone didn't get an 11...so they all have to buy all new chargers. Myself included.

Nobody but y'all really got money like that to be dropping 700+ on macs, phones, etc

Once again, this is making anyone with anything before an 11 have to get all new chargers.

But you can use any iPhone charger since the 5 with the 12? Sure it might be slower but as long as you have a cable that ends in lightning and a brick to match it then you should be fine

So when is the 12 Pro expected to begin shipping?

Bro it’s not. Anyone with an iPhone 5 or newer who upgrades can use their old lightning cable and brick. How do you charge your phone right now? Use the same thing for the new one the port is the same

I think we mixing messages up here.

But quick question. If everyone already has a charger...why include the charging cable then?

And why not give folks the choice to get a charger or not when buying?

I think they include the charging cable because it takes up relatively little space. Also just as extra. They know it doesn’t work with the charging brick you already have but it’s not supposed to I guess. It works with their macs, there would be no point to include a usb-a cable considering you already have one. That’s just my theory

Gonna go with the pro, better camera, brighter screen & more ram.

  • Apple really is the most greedy f***ing company in the world.

Y’all should just keep getting refurbished iPhones. Apple should have to earn your money

  • Oct 18, 2020

Ya’ll really care that much about a charging brick huh? Imma just plug my new phone in right where I’ve been charging my current one.

Ordered the black iPhone 12. Choosing a color was so devastating. What’d ya’ll go with?
