ram is used for multitasking, with 6gb youll be able to have more apps running on the background, so like youll be able to multitask an app you had opened longer ago if u have more ram (for example)
in Mac OS but in iOS it doesn't need that much RAM for multi tasking
you could open 100 apps and you won't see a difference between 4gb and 6gb cause the way multitasking works in iOS
and those things definitely get a boost, that's the way RAM works in FreeBSD.. wiki.freebsd.org/Memory
a perfect example of this is the iPad Pro 2018, the ones with more storage have 2gb more of RAM to manage the extra storage but the RAM is hidden from system use
