What’s generally the main difference between a MacBook Air and a MacBook Pro? Besides one being thinner than the other. I’ve had an Air a couple of years ago and I currently have a Pro. Is it just that the Pro has a better battery? When I check the stats they barely seem to differ at all besides the battery and physical dimensions.

the chip in the Pro clocks higher and draws more watts
the Pro has a wider color range because it will have more color bit depth and the Air has 20% less nits than the Pro
yeah it also has a bigger battery

Sorry but a lot of inaccuracies here. They have the same exact screen colors-wise (both P3 gamut now) but Pro’s screen is 25% brighter (500/400 = 1.25)

The main difference is the fan, which will allow the Pro to sustain high performance for longer whereas the Air will have to throttle (or get super hot, but presumably it will throttle first). We still don’t know how much cooler the Pro will run, how frequently the fans will engage, when and how much the Air will have to throttle, etc. We should know more when reviews go live and people get their units on Tuesday
Other differences are: 500 nits brightness on the Pro vs 400 nits on the Air, better speaker quality on the Pro, a few hours extra battery on the Pro, and the Touch Bar on the Pro vs normal function keys on the Air

I meant the Air has 20% less my bad for not being clear that post didn't make any sense but the Pro will perform better in color testing even if the gamut is the same..
more nits on a similar screen always translates into a better color bit depth
it doesn’t come down to just the gamut
cam on iphone 12 mini so good coming from the X. going to kinda miss the 5.8 size tho

Makes me feel like going out and taking photos with my iPhone XS Max now. Honestly, I feel like anything X upwards isn't all that different.

i took some side by side pics and there was a p significant difference. the portrait mode would always ask me to go further back too and just ended up ruining the shot, with the 12 i get it almost perfectly at the right distance every time. bokeh is better too

Having been on the 11 pro max for a year then switching back to the X these past 2 months and now jumping into the 12 pro max I’ve gotta disagree
The X aged terribly
So the 12 Mini came in and I love it except its having some unresponsive issues on the unlock screen and evidently this is a common problem. I've got to slide my thumb on the screen a good 4 or 5 times before it brings me to the passcode screen and sometimes the 1 and 4 "keys" on the screen won't work.
Do y'all think this is something they can patch with an update, or is this a device problem?

Malwarebytes seems to stay very up to date with new Mac OS updates, I don't use Anti Virus or keep anything running but I run Malwarebytes sometimes but you can set it up to run automatically and in the background also if you feel like you need extra protection
I wouldn't say it's necessary though but it's not bad to run
Yeah I've found Trend Micro, Mcafee & AVG will be out of date and stay that way sometimes for months running poorly

Never in my doggone life have I had an antivirus program on my Macs, and I have never had any issues AT ALL with viruses and stuff. Only had that issue back when I had a PC lol.

Personally never used one
Keep an eye out for sketchy apps, websites, emails etc.
Reviews should go up today.... normally 9AM EST so I don't know why they're not up now...
