there's a bug with the M1 GPU where displays connected over thunderbolt don't wake up after sleep been complaining to Apple got a call with a Tech tomorrow to record more data s***s annoying
displays over hdmi or dp alt mode are fine
this has only gotten worse I basically have to reboot the machine if it goes to sleep or it can't see any Displays plugged into Thunderbolt
my 16 coming in somewhere 6-13 dec, this wait is killing me
finally got mine delivered today
It's a beast

bought 5 thunderbolt docks (returning 3 back to amazon lol)
it's a problem with the Intel chipsets in certain Thunderbolt 3 docks and I think all Thunderbolt 4 docks pls update Tim Apple
would be nice if Apple had an official Thunderbolt 4 dock with a none Intel chipset they tested with new hardware/updates cause there is only one Thunderbolt 4 chipset out
all the brands use the same OWC board with a Goshen Ridge (JHL8440) chipset
I don't have the problem on my AMD GPU based Mac

Originally ordered the 13 Pro but it took forever to ship and my XR started acting funny so I couldn’t wait anymore. Ended up getting 13 mini because that’s all was in stock.
Wow this thing is a little pocket rocket. I forgot how much I appreciated using one hand on a phone.
It’s so lightweight as well that I forget it’s in my pocket. To the point I don’t need an Apple Watch to compliment the device. Originally with the 13 pro I wanted an Apple Watch so I wouldn’t have to take that brick everywhere I go (mostly gym).
This thing is so valuable and I hope Apple doesn’t get rid of this size. I don’t wanna go back to bigger phones.
is the iPad 9 good for reading, watching videos and browsing? never owned a tablet before and not tryna spend big money right now, so it looks like a good place to start

Yeah it’s great for that. I would personally recommend the mini over the iPad 9 for a little more though. Typing on mine right now, I love it. Impeccable form factor for casual use

that was actually the other option i thought about, but i’m gonna go for the 9 because of screen size. thanks for your input though
edit: just copped and it’s beautiful

new update to 12.1 is better
I also replaced my dock with a pluggable one and the bug happens way less, still happens but it's much more rare
Anyone have the new 14 inch? My 2020 MBP Intel 13 inch screen just broke and i don't have applecare (won't make the same mistake again)..
I am a product designer and the 16gb ram wasn't doing it for me.. I'm thinking of getting a 32gb or even 64gb M1 max with 1 TB...
my question is do I need the extra ram or should I stick with 32gb? I like having the absolute best even if I may not use it to full capacity every day, but I'm wondering is 64gb is overkill
Pulled the trigger and ordered M1 Max 32 core/32gb ram/1TB. Should I have gotten 64gb or will 32 be good enough? Mostly going to be using it for recording/mixing on Logic Pro, editing videos on Final Cut, and gaming on Dolphin emulator
How do you like it? I asked the same question up there
how do i get rid of that popping up under the address bar everytime i type something in google chrome. doesnt happen in safari
Do ARM MacBooks still have glare stains on the display?
Apple claims that hasn't been an issue since 2017 but they were claiming that wasn't an issue at the time until it looked like they were gonna get hit with a class action
it's still a problem, you can find people complaining this year with M1 Macbooks
it happens cause of finger oils on the keyboard/case, I've owned many Macbooks and never had it but I clean them a lot and I guess it depends in the acid naturally in someones fingers

Damn
Hope they fix it sometime

How is the battery?
How is the battery?
On a normal day it’s fine. I’ve been averaging about 6 hours of screen time and I haven’t had to charge it at night. Granted when I hop in the car I use CarPlay so it charges then during the day.
I think the real test is when I travel with it. For that I’ll just get the MagSafe battery when that time comes. It’s a $100 accessory but the phone itself is just $699. Still a good bargain.

I currently have the 11pro (with the Apple battery case) and am thinking about going 13mini, but I might just hold out for the 14
If I got a phone now, it would definitely be the 13 mini tho
