I don't understand the rationale of getting the macbook air m2 compared to the base model 2021 macbook pro.

If you don’t need 16gb ram or the extra storage then you’re saving some money. Not to mention some people value the portability more than others

the price is just too high to justify getting the Air over the MBP.

If it was 200 bucks less I’d understand but not at that price.

we’re talking 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD in 2023 that’s insane.

Trust me I agree personally I copped the 2021 MBP last year after debating the new air. The 2020 M1 air is a much better value is you’re going with the air. The niche of the M2 over M1 air is really just the slightly better screen and web cam
