Do you have Apple Music? I got one for $30 used and use it with Spotify and honestly it’s really finicky if you’re using AirPlay. Wouldn’t recommend unless you got AM

Yeah technically you can but only with AirPlay which is much slower than Bluetooth. Also mine stutters quite a lot when I play music with Spotify. I’ve had to reset it twice
Unless you care about using Siri which I guess is a feature, as a speaker alone there are better options
