I’m actually floored. I can’t believe this is the same band that made whatever people say. The growth in this record alone is almost immeasurable. Alex is on this b**** channeling Elton John, Curtis Mayfield, And Al Green. It’s difficult to even put that sentence into context all things considered but wow man, It’s influences are so clear yet I don’t think I’ve ever heard anything like it. These niggas are real legends

I enjoy them much more now that they're not doing bar/garage rock. The seedy Bono lounge singer thing works well for them

Mirrorball was aight but this album is sorely missing a Four Stars Out of Five type anthem
