Personally I feel like 30 minutes is too short. And more than 60 minutes is too much.

Ideally it’s the 40-50 minute sweet spot. Enough runtime for 10-15 tracks of various lengths.

There is no such thing as a project over 7-8 songs that is too short and lowkey, doing less than 12-13 songs is how you can damn near force an album to be a classic with just quality control

Are 30 minute albums a good thing, as opposed to 80+ minute albums? Sure, most of the time. But I wouldn’t call them a replacement for well-crafted 40-50 minute albums, and I wouldn’t want them to be the norm.

if you can make a 14 song album last nearly an hour with barely any skips, 50-60 mins is fine.
