I mean like the traditional anglo Irish etc. whites who have lived here foreveri want to say i get this is a complicated topic so i don't want it to seem like i'm trying to invalidate your thoughts on the matter; I get it, definitely - and I'm sympathetic.
I guess the issue becomes that you start to run into issues with you have to compare oppression, if that makes sense? Like for example you cite the Irish (and i know people often cite Italians), but Irish & Italians both received their own periods of oppression (Italians were lynched in the US too, for example). Now while this isn't comparable to black-american oppression ofc, I think there's something grim about having to compare oppressive dialogues in order to categorize a person one way or another. I think what also complicates it is when people have mixed heritage too - like is someone being 1/10th german or something.
I don't like talking about my background online because I often think it invalidates otherwise neutral conversations, but i'm mixed from a lot of different ethnic backgrounds which have historically (and recently) received oppression. it's hard because you definitely feel a level of resentfulness esp. toward ignorance if anything else, but you have to think about it from a more abstract background. like i think it's generally better to sort things by historical context and determination than by tail-end traits.

i know middle easterners aren't "white" but many can 100% pass as white if you do not know their place of origin. many people in my family ancestry who had that heritage 100% passed as white. if we're not going simply by "white"="european" (which even that is complicated tbh), then south italians are no more white by skin color than many middle easterners and south asians

It's crazy how minorities living within a society with a domineering set of cultural values will have dummies making threads like "are liberal whites subconsciously racist"?
You would have to be a coon to add a specifier like that. A large majority of the white people you will meet in America and/or just the western world will harbor some levels of racial bias.

It's this weird savior complex that they all have. Honestly, white liberals annoy me more than racist people. At least with a racist I know what to expect.
