For you audiophiles, is there any advantage to CDs when most phones have enough storage space for lossless audio?

I’m guessing the breakdown might be the bitrate Bluetooth can support but most cars now have usb-c/thundebolt

CD’s to me have always sounded better than any streaming service even if it’s lossless. Insano sounds way better in CD so far

21 album just dropped so they wouldve had to ship the physical to stores in advance.

Nicki explained this for PF2 that its based on previous supply and demand trends for not just the artist but the genre/subgenre. Thats why taylor swift for example gets so much space in stores.

But they do have it. It’s just put out on shelves. Only Taylor and Ariana mostly. Not even Kali

You can’t have customers going INSANO in the store now, they gotta put it in the back for safety reasons!!!

Target barely sold rap albums even when CDs were viable on the market

Need to ask a target employee if they’re told to only put Taylor albums on the shelf or something

  • Physicals don’t drop until a little bit later now a days for a lot of artists. You can find Insano vinyl at your local record stores though, saw it when I went to one near me on Saturday.

Damm the only time I can remember shopping for CDs there they only had a few copies of 808s & Heartbreaks

Mine was stacked with Graduation and Curtis back in 07

  • not 100% sure if they do it w/ CDs, but yes companies can and do pay supermarkets to display their DVDs/Games at prime locations in the store, you ever been in the grocery section and seen a whole display of non grocery stuff? they probably bought that spot.

If there were no other CDs the store could prob be getting ready to end CD sales all together and Republic could've bought whatever shelf space was left.

I see no quality reason to prefer a CD to lossless files

Not that i can think of. Vinyl offers no improvement either but people like that too. I think its just nice to gave something tangible - if my phone streaming stops working in the car for whatever reason I have a few cds in there i can use.

Honestly theres hardly a difference between 320kbps and lossless unless youre a child who can still hear high frequencies. Unless youre going to resample it, stretch it/play it at a lower speed/pitch

Go to Best Buy or Bookmans

Or guitar center or a local record store

    Or amazon online

    Lol

Are you mentally in the year 2005? Physical media has been dead commercially for a minute lol.
