Snoop, biggie, DMX, ODB, Pac, Dre, ghost face all had elite delivery, charisma and vocal presence and could go head to head w anyone
It sounds like you just prefer singing and melody to rapping, cause if there’s one thing that’s declined over time in hiphop in the last handful of years it’s the vocal performances
And in no way are flows rn are the best they’ve ever been in hiphop lol
Ofcourse, the technology is doing most of the work. You can record studio quality vocals on a usb mic now days

i love rap i'm not talking about pen game/lyricism, but strictly variety of flows and styles/quality of vocal performance/mixing and engineering

I’m talking about flows and vocal performances - they are not the best the genre has ever seen rn.
And ofc the mixing is gonna be better, that’s because of technology

i agree these are all incredible lyricts/performers, but compared to all the other rappers who weren't so influential in their era they are outliers. in the game now their are way more flows and lanes than their used to be

Real. Thug was on some other s***. You could see his impact because more half of the new generation are influenced by him directly
yes, simply because there's probably soooo many more artists now. maybe mainstream isnt as good as it used to be in some people's opinions, but vocalists in general gotta be better now right?
