since like the beginning of recorded history, people have been saying that things were better back then and this new generation is ruining society. Seemingly, this is just something people say when they get older, regardless of the state of the world. The implication is to not take people seriously when they talk about how the world is going to s***.

this time around tho, is it different? should we actually be worried now? social stats suggest there might be something serious brewing fr. record high loneliness, depression, etc.

No but it is true that the changes in lifestyle are unprecedented - at the level of the Industrial Revolution, less than but near the agricultural revolution - but the rate of change is much faster and the changes are more pervasive than either of those two

The problem is that people claim to care about mental health but when you talk about the s*** that is making everyone mental health worse, s*** like kids getting hooked on social media from young age, people's diets and sedentary lifestyles, d*** and alcohol use etc you get dismissed and mocked...

Well, it has to do with people growing old for sure, but also climate change is real and our kids will have a f***ed up future.
So it's a bit of both

As you get older you gain wisdom.

The new tech mixed with the current mindset got the world goin to s***, and by the world I mean people

People are outside WYLIN rn. It’s all documented so it’ll be something that’s looked back on and assessed, humans never seem to know their in the wrong until the time is way past rarely in the present
