I don't think people actually will need "jobs" in the future.
What it means to be human is evolving with the technology we are creating.
Certain people become obsolete as it becomes less advantageous to hold those positions.
The emergence of Ai poses a solution to this.
We don't really "need" to have jobs that are unfulfilling. I feel like that has always been a part of human history. It happens all the time, jobs become obsolete.
They don't serve us the same way anymore. Got to evolve with the times
I can see how the pandemic brought this into question for many, and what a "job" is in the future may look radically different from what a job looks like today.
So what happens to the useless people ?

AI will get rid of jobs done in front of a computer a while before physical labor (store checkout type jobs can be automated pretty easily too, but something like a plumber isn’t going away any time soon)

So what happens to the useless people ?
They die. Change is generational, the youth shape the future. It happens over the course of time.
Think about jobs that are already obsolete, people used to have to manually connect phone calls.
Also im not saying people won't have to "work" it will just be different type of work.
Successful YouTubers work. It's just a different form of work for the different ways in which media is consumed, due to the evolution of technology, and how it impacted how people consume media.

Not sure.
Working, we have to have problems to exist.
Without problems life would be meaningless, so we will create new problem to solve.
I suppose that's really what all work is. Dealing with the "problem" that is existence.
I think that we really will try to create a singularity.
Not intentionally, but by happenstance, by continuously exploring what it means to be human.
