my other brother is like yours tho lmao even through he put my dad on to Illmatic and OutKast back in the day but lately he just stopped following it like that
Hope this doesn’t happen to us when we get older
There’s more polarizing classics too like 808s. Even pet sounds had some pushback and did well in the UK but sold poorly in the US because it was “too sad” or “too deep” which could almost be compared to TPAB’s reception
808s and Pet Sounds are classics though because of their legacy. Look at all of the artists they inspired. I mean great artists would go on to mention those albums specifically when talking about their inspiration in music and shaping who they became. I don’t hear any new school artists referencing TPABs sound for having a huge impact on them and inspiring their music. It’s still early though, only time will tell.
I love LR but I don’t consider it a classic album that will go down in history as a classic. Cult classic maybe like yeezus.
Late Registration has already gone down in history as a classic album tho

As if DAMN doesn’t have some of the worst songs of Kendrick’s career
Which ones??? not a bad song on DAMN imo
It’s one of the most celebrated albums of the 00s
I absolutely love it, but it’s just not haha still had/has way more success then TPAB though

Personally I hate LOYALTY, LOVE (honestly just hate the “rap song with pop artist on the hook” format, thought we left that back in like 2012 and Kendrick’s better than that) and then GOD

Do u think people say they missed the old kanye for no reason lol
@PerryTheMADLADYPUS
What you saying???
speaking of new tiny details, "for free" came up randomly on autoplay on youtube and i just caught this: "i need 40 acres and a mule not a 40 ounce and a pitbull"
i always knew what the "40 acres and a mule" referred to, and the juxtaposition and contrast between these two things. but i didn't catch that 40 was used (also intentionally used) in both the items juxtaposed. and that 40 ounces could metaphorically mean 40, but 40 "somethings" but of a lower unit, (ounce compared to an acre) with the extended meaning of acres x ounces meaning beeing given WAAAAAY less. crazy
Do u think people say they missed the old kanye for no reason lol
If people miss old Kanye because of Gold Digger, Touch the Sky, Heard Em Say, and Diamonds. Then they have s***ty music taste to begin with.
Kendrick channeled god on mortal man I swear and the pac outro is perfect
Whole album is flawless
Momma outro is my fav moment tho

( edit i mean the Momma outro) so short but i LOVE the manicy feel of his delivery and those drums holy f*** and the subtle production
Listening to jazz has nothing 2 do with his FOLLOW UP to GKMC being trash, u cannot follow up your debut album w a left field experimental trash album, at dat time period Kendrick was being celebrated so TPAB is overrated, but i will say a few songs sound really good just not as an entire album, the INTRO “Wesley’s Theory” is the hardest song on the album
S80 is Kendrick’s best project
bro what
an artist can follow up their debut album w/ w/e they want

They’re hits, but none of them should go in his top 20 songs
