Is it possible to be "too" free?
Short answers, long answers whatever i wanna hear what y'all think.
Foreigners too, would love to know your perspective
EDIT: are we not free enough? personally i hate all the red tape you have to go thru to start certain businesses but to an extent i understand why it is the way it is
I think it’s a good balance. Most people are held back more by their own inhibitions than the government, which is how it should be
Not too free, but it's a bigger government than what the Founding Fathers intended to, a limited government.

Thats what bernie supporters want
Countries in the middle east and some other parts of the world don’t even let women show skin, drive cars, or vote. yet women in the US think they’re being persecuted on the daily because some creepy guy at the bar is hitting on them or their instagram post got flagged for nudity
Yeah we’re too free, I wouldn’t change it tho

Let me use ktt to post some of my misogynistic ideas that I would get crucified for on the rest of the internet

This is a complete misunderstanding of feminism, societal progress, and how freedom works

If you run into someone, literally just dipping from the scene is actually a viable option
Yes and the Constitution.
So u know the constitution derived from the fact the articles of confederation made the fed government weak as s***.
It was the anti feds who were against big government but they all knew they needed to gain the support of the states. It was more about preventing excessive democracy than excessive government as well.

Actually, the point of big government can abridges individual freedoms. They would be tyrannical though so they were debating around post-Revolution. The Constitution didn't derived from the Articles of Confederation, but there were some historical precedents such as the Northwest Ordinance, English Bill of Rights, Magna Carta, and other Enlightenment Age philosophers such as Locke and Montesquieu framed a "more perfect" form of government.

Im not saying it derived from the AOC but that when they wanted to revise the AOC they realized it would be better to just come up with a whole new document
i think it depends how you define free. "freedom" is a mostly arbitrary concept when you look at it under a lot of scrutiny. The veracity and extent of the term has changed over time as well. It really all stems back to what epistemological perspective you're looking at the concept from, but even then under intense scrutiny you can see levels of disconnection most of the time.
I think America's focus on individuality in our society leads to there being a greater disconnect among people. We rarely rally for a common goal.
