An Ari album with Neo Soul/90's Hip Hop vibe with Q-Tip/Questlove/D'Angelo/J Dilla/Raphael Saadiq influence would be f***ing nuts, but I dont think she would go left field like that anytime soon and risk alienating her fanbase.
But that's what's popular now. People have been putting her vocals on drill beats for a while, and it sounds cool.
I wouldn't mind an Ari drill song
I'm saying if you willingly listen to Drill music than Positions is not for you
808melo already doing it

I feel like my hair is the closest she’ll get to that rn.
If it had some dilla or questlove drums instead of the programmed snaps and stuff it would fit in that vibe pretty well.
Even has those long roy ayers backing singular string notes on the hook

100%
Relistening, it even has a little "swing" to the drum pattern like Dilla.

Well yeah, drill is popular now, it's not just for people that want some gangsta s***.
Her vocals can make any genre sound good
Drill is bottom of the barrel "music" tho
no bottom of the barrel is cultureless white people specifically pop fans who have to steal literally any sound and dilute it with whiteness in order to create anything deemed listenable.
can white people stick to the rivers and the timberlakes that they're used to please? we need ari drill about as much as we needed kate perry trap.I double dog dare you not to steal something from black people you used to mock and shame for doing, and come up with something the least bit original and appealing

Nah it's Drill
noooooooo i usually hate these but WHY IS THIS HITTING??!?!

Twitter would eat her up for that
I can see the think-pieces already
Idk I don’t hear what y’all hearing. This isn’t bad at all so far, I’m at the ty dolla song
mock then steal. sounds about white
You in a vocalist thread sweetie... stick to your random noises boom bow adlib music

I don’t want her busting out Tribe Called Quest raps, just take what she has now and throw it over some of that production.
Besides, Twitter gonna complain about everything if you white doing hip/hop or R&B. You just gotta be respectful like Mac and shrug off the shallow criticism.
Aite so the album is basically just a product of Ari being h**** as f*** during quarantine? Was she always this freaky because if so I been sleepin

That’s what I’m sayin
I didn't like the album on a first listen, it felt like it was missing something. Kinda reminded me of the Tame Impala album in that it sounded like bleh aside from a few songs. I hope it grows on me
Ariana run pop
What? I thought Positions was going number 1 for sure.

1. Talking about the week after
2. The chart is at its weakest point ever, any song could go #1 released by a usually chart topping artist
