bad press will get you dropped from an indie label. also news came out yesterday about some sexual abuse allegations, it’s possible the label knew about them beforehand (there was some legal stuff under wraps that began as early as July I think) and was gonna drop him for that so they moved a little earlier after the rally thing, or the rally was the straw that broke the camel’s back

either way for the label’s perspective you don’t wanna bankroll an album from an artist who just alienated like a really large portion of his listenership lol

I said he decided to “rally” a fair loss and after that he didn’t condemn the events that night, he went on to support Trump on twitter despite what happened at the Capitol that day.
