Why is Israel so close with Azerbaijan anyway?

One reason is the Israel-Iran beef: the deal being that if Israel helps improve and supply the Azerbaijani military, then they can count on and use Azerbaijan as a bastion against Iran (Azerbaijan and Iran have beef as well).
