Frank Ocean
I really like some of Nostalgic Ultra, but CO was a big let down.
Did not like Blond at first listen, but I listened again during an ecstasy come down and was blown away
Danny Brown’s voice used to be like nails on a chalkboard for me initially
Chance’s voice, adlibs and that minutes of silence in Pusha Man had me like for a while
Bruh I will never forget the first time I saw Danny Brown. He opened up for Childish Gambino in 2011/2012 and there were these two dudes in the crowd who clearly came for Danny; knew every word, were screaming along standing up going crazy. Meanwhile I’m hearing this mf rap about all the crazy s*** he raps about for the first time. Thought he was a joke and garbage but obviously I love him now
Sir Michael Rocks
Ngl when SZA dropped Ctrl i thought it was mid at first. I liked a couple songs but i considered her just another new age rnb girl.
I didn’t learn to appreciate her until 2018 when i heard SZA on All the Stars then i had to go back and listen to Ctrl again. Ctrl is a classic and SZA is one of my favourite artists
Which artist did you sleep on and when did they grow on you?
I used to think Lil Baby was just a singles artist for a long time (until like 2 months ago) but I checked out his projects and was really impressed.. even when he first came out I always thought he was gonna have a good career but I didn't think he could make music that I would really enjoy
