  • It feels like so many artists now (in the mainstream) make it their mission 2 drop as little music as possible

    Why?

everything is teases, “leaks”, snippets, n now “eps”

very disturbing trend that has been on the rise 4 several years now.

Because outside of the street artists Drake/Kendrick were the last real generational talents lol and most everyone else is stretching their one trick as long as possible

But some talented people do this too like Frank

  • It's very simple. become a fan of an artist that actually cares about his fanbase. Y'all support these guys who treat their fans like s***.

it’s not that simple. firstly a lot of these artists have deals or a&r’s or other execs telling them when to drop or what to drop. also it’s very hard to clear a song/album you gotta pay producers the cover art designer engineers featured artists etc. also art is a very personal thing to a lot of artists so for them to just drop constantly it’s not very easy when they probably have been working on 3 minutes worth of material for several months/years. also some artists aren’t as prolific as others some end up with writers block or it takes a long time to craft a song rather than someone like wsg who can make a record in 2 days.

  • Jul 17, 2022

I think fans are to blame
An album three or four years old is dusty now a days like they like trends over actual music

I don't see it as an issue necessarily, if it inspires people to take their time and not just put out BS i see it as an improvement to artistry

  • but it can be annoying if u sit on internet forums waiting for new music to come out all day everyday

When you're on a major label, you're not releasing on your own schedule. If the label decides to shelf your music for a minute, then that's that.
