He has his own MBDTF within him, songs like DITRDress, Maybach Music Series, Yatch Club etc. Ross can give us the highest class material and doesn't (for one cohesive album that bumps in the whip lols)

you don't have to like his new music but from a songwriting perspective he's inarguably improved leaps and bounds since trilogy. some of the songs on those tapes are literally just him moaning aimlessly over ambient beats and are overly reliant on atmosphere and samples (mostly on HOB and thursday, by EOS he was starting to carve out his niche as a songwriter). it's just a bold faced lie to say he "refuses" to be great, he's always getting better, just not in the way you want him to.
