    Some are genuine..

    Some are not..

I’m askin about the ones that seem to be blatantly riding the wave..

What are some thoughts on that.. I don’t see how this is somethin people are struggling to identify lol

this is such a stupid question because if you're asking about people that are blatantly riding the wave then, by virtue of it being blatant, everyone is going to know that they're faking it - so of course most people (hopefully everyone) are going to not agree with that type of behavior

If anything mental illness shouldve been worse to deal with in the past

I know society can be heartless but imagine as recently as the 40s

    Them niggas was really f***ed

exactly i have yet met someone really convince me why this generation has more mental illness and it really make sense

  • Jan 5, 2020

the question then becomes then how do you know if somebody is faking a mental illness just for clout? i don't know any of these people on a personal level. as somebody with firsthand experience in the realm of mental illness i'm just not going to launch attacks on people just because i don't believe they have something affecting them

however when you tell people to take away things from their lives that depress them......they then say mental illness is a chemical imbalance, and you are being insensitive.

They make it seem that they are born chemically f***ed and are unable to save

i mean yeah of course when people are having smartphones from the age of 5 it's hard to take that away or let it go when you're 14 or 15 or however old because it's something you've had your entire life. depression is a cocktail of many things and you can't just solve it by telling someone to log off instagram

To some of us it’s blatant, to people not questioning things, not so much

Like the legitimacy of news stories and political developments.. if you’ve been paying attention to the smoke and mirrors, it becomes blatant when bullshit is reported.

If you haven’t, and you take it all at face value for whatever reason, the bullshit will be less obvious.

If you watch the news and think every story you see is facts the latter is probably more relatable to you.

No, you do sound stupid and that's entirely your own fault because the only thing you said in response to me is "well it's blatant to me but not to you"

  • Jan 5, 2020

The entire basis of that post was "I'm smarter than you, I question everything so I understand everything better" and you're trying to act like I'm on a high horse or I'm trying to make myself seem smarter than you?

In response to your claim that if it were really blatant, everybody would think this were true

I went into WHY it would seem more blatant to some than others..

Some people have experience with these things and some dont

If all you got out of it was “it’s blatant to me and not to you”

I’m lookin for rational discourse and I seem to be fishin in the wrong pond

Either way, at this point I give a f*** what you think

"Some people have experience with these things and some don't"

Two of my close friends have tried to kill themselves and have been hospitalized for attempts multiple times and I never suspected them at any point. I've had suicidal thoughts for years.

I have experience with these things. It sucks that people use mental illness as a way to reach a broader market but in all honesty I don't give a f*** and I'm not going to sling s*** at people because if I didn't know my close friends were going to try to commit suicide, why the f*** would I act like I can know if someone I will NEVER meet will?

This is not just a artist thing but this entire online culture and even in real life.

I have spent many months on end, drinking most days. In fact often than not the last three years since college.

I'm am outgoing person, will talk to strangers in bars and open to new things. Of course I also enjoy solitude at times.

I used to go out actively trying to meet people and going to events etc but either the people I meant just weren't my crowd upon further interactions or they just weren't accepting of outsiders in their circle (Memphis is very local type scene).

I lied to myself for years that I wasn't depressed, that I was just momentarily on something or other. But actively failings time and time again with attempts at love and friends and just where I was, crying myself to sleep many nights. I n never bought a gun to protect myself. Not suicidal but one drunken night, you never know what could happen.

These reasons are why I've always hated the trend that started where people are making "being sad" and "alone" etc an aesthetic. I understand very well some people do not outwardly show it, I myself am of that ilk, but many of these people you can tell are not genuine and are simply doing it because it's popular to say.

I want to end by saying being depressed it not a moment. It is a state of being. I remember when it started with me in college and I was confused why I no longer had the will to do the things I enjoyed, even when I tried. It's this feeling that is a constant and there's not really a certainly that the things you think will fix it if they happen will even relieve that feeling.

You have friends who have died from this and have personal experience with it

But the very idea of thinking some of these artists are using this as a ploy to garner more attention triggers you? Not all... SOME..

    To me it’s the opposite..

Some of these rappers really from blood and crip sets, some acting like it cuz it speaks to the audience

If I come from that background any false claiming for clout to sell merchandise and image would upset me when I really got dead homies from that lifestyle.

If you’re not from that street background it’s probably not as obvious when somebody is false claimin for clout than somebody who really lives that life.

Not saying all would be offended.. I’m asking how much did it bother yall out here living this life.. for you, not so much

But for some more so.. why you went so hard to make it seem stupid to think it’s happening is mind boggling when it’s so clearly happening lol

It’s pretty stupid to think it’s not actually no matter how you try to slice it my brotha..

Believe none of what you hear and half of what you see.

It's getting a little better. I moved to Korea recently and enjoy it, though the loneliness of course still sets in. But at least I don't live somewhere I hated being every day.

I’m never going to say who does or doesn’t have anything because if something happens with that person those same dumb asses jump out and say “wow I wish there was a sign.” So all I will say is I hope those people aren’t trying to take advantage of people that take mental health seriously and I hope the ones that are get exposed.
