Listened to my music at 100% all my teens and now s*** just hurts. Its f***ing ass man
I feel you bro
If I had a worldwide platform I'd tell kids to use speakers, keep headphones to a minimum and bring earplugs to concerts, you don't want to get to a stage where a dog bark can make your hearing go crazy for a week
What's the band?
wouldnt say but i honestly cant remember, did a few albums and toured the uk once through a small label nothing big
i became more wary of using headphones or just loud music in general. I always make sure if i play loud music its on pair of speakers instead of headphones. Its serious issue which isn't brought up enough
Same, luckily I still feel comfortable using my Apple Airpods Max since I can monitor sound and db levels on my iPhone and Apple Watch.
I also usually get a hearing test every year to make sure
kevin shields
knowing him, he probably say that s*** give him superpowers
only in my right ear, but there’s no telling when it’s gonna start ringing, s*** comes out of nowhere
Regular people get tinnitus from listening to music, is it really surprising the people who MAKE the music get it too?

lol it's definitely smth like that
More people need to know about this, it's all 'Live Fast Die Young' and 100% volume until you get tinnitus/hyperacusis and can't use headphones without it causing physical pain
this made me scared
i’ve never liked listening to music at 100% never got how people could do it
wasn’t even entertaining anymore just annoying
this made me scared
Should do man; I listened with headphones too loud for too long and now I have to ask my housemates to turn the TV down like an old man
It's not just that it rings all the time, but loud stuff can make it spike, had to adjust my entire lifestyle, don't think I can go to a concert again out of fear of it being made permanently worse, can't even listen to headphones while walking or on the train, used to be one of my favourite things about travel
Honestly the best advice I could give would be to switch to speakers for the most part, that way you can protect your hearing at a good enough baseline level that occasional headphone use won't harm it, and get good musician-level earplugs if you ever go to concerts, nothing's worth the risk of not being able to listen to music properly again

damn that sounds horrible i’ll def be keeping this in mind fr i do be pumping up the volume too much in my headphones..
I'm 24 now, have had tinnitus since I was about 15
Had habituated to the ringing for many years without many issues until I went to an incredibly loud Miguel concert in 2018, which made my tinnitus worse and seemed to be the beginning of hyperacusis, in the last 12-18 months my hyperacusis has gotten progressively worse (I think being at home in lockdown has been really bad for it)
I went from listening to music with earphones, to bluetooth speakers to now only being comfortable playing music off my iphone speaker, everyday noises cause me discomfort and give me headaches, this s*** is horrible to deal with
Moral of the story protect your ears and invest in some solid earplugs for concerts
I had mild ringing in my right ear when I was a teen. Listening to EDM at full volume. Never have to do that again, even when I tempting to do it if I want to hear the whole track.
I always thought people who got this were weirdos. Which artists really worth blowing your eardrums out
