OnyxShine9I'm not sure which of these Tyler would fall into. He has no real "lane", he is always making something fresh but does it effortlessly, which leads to him creating new things.
I guess my answer would be an artist who isn't aimlessly recreating the wheel at every opportunity and being different just for the sake of being different, but one who are naturally explorative with their sound.
Nothing wrong with an artist who stays in their lane and just sticks to refining themselves. RXK Nephew and Pap are the best developing examples of that. The only thing about consistency is you inevitably peak at some point and risk going downhill if you don't know how to switch things up.

its still kendrick through n through but he's clearly been experimenting with his sound between those two releases

headieoneAn artist who constantly tries to create something new and fresh, pushing boundaries and never does the same thing twice creatively, the quality is always there for the most part, but is also often very polarising by definition

An artist who “stays in their lane”, experiments rarely and their sound stays somewhat “consistent” but the quality is mostly always there but they may also drop a dud every now and then
the artist that makes good music is the correct answer, they have to know how to innovate tho . or I may aswell listen to the s*** I liked originally. AKA. 50 cent.
