all my favorites push boundaries. Kanye, Kendrick, Carti, even Drake although people don’t wanna admit it
I'm not sure which of these Tyler would fall into. He has no real "lane", he is always making something fresh but does it effortlessly, which leads to him creating new things.
I guess my answer would be an artist who isn't aimlessly recreating the wheel at every opportunity and being different just for the sake of being different, but one who are naturally explorative with their sound.
Nothing wrong with an artist who stays in their lane and just sticks to refining themselves. RXK Nephew and Pap are the best developing examples of that. The only thing about consistency is you inevitably peak at some point and risk going downhill if you don't know how to switch things up.
Tyler is an edge hopper. A cliff hanger. An Industry Puppet.
i like experimentation but still staying true to self while doing so
like kendrick going from gkmc to tpab
its still kendrick through n through but he's clearly been experimenting with his sound between those two releases
I don’t think there’s ever been an artist in music history that has mastered as many different genres as him. He can literally do everything

post songs where he pushed boundaries
An artist who constantly tries to create something new and fresh, pushing boundaries and never does the same thing twice creatively, the quality is always there for the most part, but is also often very polarising by definition
Or
An artist who “stays in their lane”, experiments rarely and their sound stays somewhat “consistent” but the quality is mostly always there but they may also drop a dud every now and then
the artist that makes good music is the correct answer, they have to know how to innovate tho . or I may aswell listen to the s*** I liked originally. AKA. 50 cent.
headie one actually tried to come out of the rapper lane and dropped that tape with Fred.. it was horrible

how many genres do you think he's mastered
how many genres do you think he's mastered
every subgenre of hip hop, dancehall, pop, r&b, grime, latin music

what are drake's best horrorcore and disco rap songs?
IDK all I care about is if it sounds good to my ears. Sure I have thoughts about if x artist did this but at the end of the day I care about how it sounds and if I can connect to it
Also, if my favorite artist isn't doing what I want to hear I can go listen to another artist that is doing what I want to hear.
