even if you release music you’re still a consumer

everyone is a consumer. not everyone is an artist.

  • or worst case scenario and your hands are tied buy the game and pirate the files lowkey just in case

I don’t even mean for the aesthetics. My iPod is more reliable than any streaming service and the music can never be taken from me.

The CDs in my car always work regardless of data and wifi and help me to focus on one album for a time as the artist intended.

I will say.. creating a playlist is powerful.

“Why yall niggas talking bout video games”

Preserving art. You show these big wig companies that live and die by the numbers what gets them the higher numbers, they will follow suit.

All these AI slop stuff like ye and carti all get shown bigger priority based on the stardom of the names. But if niggas was allowed and able to purchase real albums by artists that rely on just humanity maybe just maybe the reliability on this s*** could decrease

(first we gotta make sure the people basic needs are met. Inflation the reason niggas aint buying a 10.99 album of a nigga you kinda like over some food for the crib)

Buying one album a month at 10.99 is better for all parties involved than having access to all music ever made for 10.99 a month.

yeah i know. im just saying even if you make your own music you’re still gonna be listening to other artists, and them using AI instead of actually performing their vocals is still gonna be lame.

    small example

I can AI master a song within 30 seconds in Logic Pro. A label could decide to save a bit of money by opting for that option, in-place of an actual mastering engineer.

imma be fr the auto mastering tools that have existed even prior to ML have sounded mediocre, would rather do that s*** by hand.

also lets stop rebranding this s*** as "AI" its just machine learning algorithms.

I feel like they brand them as AI themselves, unless im mistaken

and idk what the difference between a machine learning algorithm, and AI would be.

whatever phone functions you're trying to compare this with is not the same thing with AI being used in music lmfao

we have a decent amount of examples of AI being used in music and they have all been absolute dogshit. someone like carti whose lyrics could be written by an amateur is using it, kanye who used to be a perfectionist in his craft is just blatantly using it in his albums and is even hiring people who are experienced in it for said albums. even timbaland who is absolutely washed beyond belief is now using it to finish his beats and make """""music videos""""""".

it just promote laziness to the point where you dont even need the artist anymore, just type out some prompts in grok and churn out as much slop as possible

My point is you niggas are not seeing past your nose on s*** and it's f***in ridiculous. There's so many possibilities that AI can have towards your music that you guys are just shutting out because of a emotional reaction to something you fear, you don't understand, or what you niggas actually don't try to understand.

A lot of people keep onntalking about Ye, and Timbo's usage of AI.

But don't actually do the f***ing research like @onetwo said and see there's other AI tools outside of generative ones that can be powerful for music.

Stem separation is one, AI mixing and mastering is 2, but now there's another tool where you don't necessarily need AI filters from your fav artists to create songs.

You can actually use AI royalty-free vocalist, manipulate the way it sings, and type in lyrics with various types of pronunciations, and create vocal doubles/harmonies.

    That's called Synthesizer V.

It's a Vocaloid that's been around 20 years now, but now it's so advanced that you can get more realistic vocals.

Now it's a easier way to create demos and save money.

AI don't make the people lazy. People who heavily rely on generative AI for everything instead of their own intuition make the people lazy.

People who research, learn the AI tool, and use their creative knowledge are not lazy people.

i also prefer DRM free games, but i will say that steam has been decent about this at least for me. i have a massive library from buying games on there since a jit and about 10-20 or more of those games are delisted yet i can freely download them still, access guides etc. idk how it works but steam seems to be able to just keep them in there as a result of whatever contract devs and publishers be signing

this is less related to what you’re saying but yeah like i said i prefer GOG, my thing is people say you really “own games” there when in reality you’re still buying a license, which is how buying games has always worked. the mini gamecube CDs we bought back in the day were still just local copies with licenses attached. i’ve almost never seen this said personally, i just be seeing folks glazing gog endlessly, so i just felt the need to point this out here to anyone that might not be aware of this

i know how the s*** works man obviously i was being facetious with the grok part it isn't even used for music.

things like stem splitting for remixes or whatever is fine to me, it still requires using actual effort/soul and music made by actual people. my issue is you guys talking about it like its gonna be the future as if its like autotune or sampling

even doing something like creating AI samples to use is wack to me like there's already an endless supply of music just sitting there to be flipped in multiple different ways.
