He f***ed up his momentum with Testing and the Cozy Tapes.
Had a spark when he started....
ALLA will always hold a special place for me, I got the Gold vinyl cover and had some of the best moments of my life listening to that.
Yams really the reason Rocky took off the way that he did and ever since his passing, the vision got lost
He f***ed up his momentum with Testing and the Cozy Tapes.
Had a spark when he started....
His momentum was f***ed up way before testing, and i don’t think he f***ed it up nesscesarily, just stepped back and assessed his direction and s*** and opted to go more in the direction of some his idols Like ye, mos def, 3 stacks, than to just try and crossover shamelessly
rocky’s best project is ALLA yall need to grow up
goated but why was long live stacked as hell
that s*** had and i quote:
Kendrick,Schoolboy Q, 2 Chainz, Drake, Big K.R.I.T., Santigold, Overdoz, Yelawolf, Florence Welch, Danny Brown, Action Bronson, Joey Badass, and Gunplay.
Production: Hector Delgado, Hit-Boy, Clams Casino, Jim Jonsin, T-Minus, Danger Mouse, 40, Skrillex, and Emile Haynie
like who else's debut looks like this
Y’all really be over thinking this s***
Man only has 3 albums, his next album will be fire just like his others
goated but why was long live stacked as hell

He was white hot on the blogs at that point.
And all of his features were too.
That album.is definitely a product of that era.
Y’all gotta get over the past and accept the fact that Testing is his greatest work

Fair but most of those features came from a single track. TML was similarly stacked.
Jeezy, wayne, jay, ti, swizz, ye on production, alicia keyes, the dream, etc
Real.
Mans really styled an entire generation of rappers.
if you disagree you clearly aren’t old enough to know better
rappers ain’t give two s***s about fashion outside Louis, Gucci, fendi, Prada and even then they were mostly just name dropping them cause everyone knows that s*** is expensive/a flex
Now it’s like damn near a requirement for a rapper to know who raf, Rick, margiela, etc are and actually care about high fashion
And before anyone comes at me w “Kanye ”
sure he name dropped and wore all those brands before rocky but he def wasn’t influencing other rappers to do the same.. he did it first, but rocky the reason why everyone else did it
His focus isnt on music and it shows. So it doesn’t matter if he decided to be a label slave instead. If your heart isn’t in the music, it will lose its appeal.
pop rocky in 2013 was something else.. felt like asap mob was so big. getting compared to drake and kendrick.
that was his real moment. people seem to forget hes a decade into his career now
TURN IT UP

Holy s*** forgot about this tape
This was the first time I heard a gambino song that I didn’t think was corny
nigga had the rap game in in the palm of his hands an chose to be calvin klein model instead

Youre definitely wrong haha. Its the opposite. Asap rocky doesnt do ghost anything like anybody you might compare him to except tyler

Huge ye stan and i totally agree with everything youre saying.
Rocky was the most successful person to really pull a ton from kanye but to not be super derivative about it. In that way, he was a bridge from ye being 1000 years ahead, rocky was maybe 500. Really was like an easier to digest version of the same creative ethos behind what ye was doing in that time frame.
Definitely came in with a completely fresh everything and paid homage big time.
I never wanted to be like a rapper as much as I wanted to be ASAP Rocky in 2011
was the first time in my life that I f***ed w a rapper more cause of his aesthetic than his writing/music

Yall wanna say Ye inspired every f***ing rapper that came after him lol.
Rocky is Rocky.
Only thing him and Ye have in common was a passion for fashion that they put into the music.
That's it.
Rocky's influences are way more eclectic then just saying hes doing Kanye homages.
Stop it
