Colorism among Asians didn't always start out as a racial thing. It just happened within the countries they were in due to the idea that poor people were darker and wealthy people were lighter. It was classism at first. However, when Asian people started immigrating to the United States, this colorist perspective definitely influenced how they viewed other races.

that's a pretty massive generalization. you can ask my Asian friends who had been physically and mentally abused by their parents for not reaching the toppest of top in school and life in general.

parenting is a lot more complex than simply having ur child be able to display an ability to do certain skills

that isnt to say thats bad parenting

but solely equating that to being a good parent is harmful. your child can play 3 instruments but if you don’t emotionally support them and teach them a healthy attachment style, help them feel safe, let them be happy, etc. etc. you are trying to raise a puppet rather than a child.

Answer: because Black people are at the bottom of the racial totem pole because we are the exact “opposite” of White and all other ethnic groups are between us and them on the racial spectrum. Those that have internalized said racism and aspire to be White and/or in the good graces of the White power structure try to elevate themselves by s***ting on Black people above everyone else, Asian Americans are also one of the groups considered to be model minorities as they often try to assimilate and don’t threaten or question the status quo to the extent that other oppressed groups do. It also helps that many White racist men fetishize Asian women as in their minds they are all traditional and submissive unlike “their” White women who have betrayed them for equality and non White men.

There are bad abusive Asian parents. But I’m talking about the results. There are white parents who just let their kids walk all over them and black parents who just hit or ignore their kids without actually teaching them right from wrong or setting a good example for them. Asian parents often have children who grow up to be well mannered and successful. That’s not the rule, and I know their are Asian school shooters and such, I’m talking like statistically and personal experience

Yeah that’s pretty messed up, but that’s like an extreme example. On id say Asian parents (and hispanic parents) perform better than white and black ones. But that doesn’t change the fact that POC solidarity is fiction
