No worries and i get it, i just feel like the average american doesnt care if u r gay

I still struggle with understanding why Trans are grouped with Gay/Lesbians tho... Like I'm sure there are gay people who do not support trans people

Again - if you are trans i dont give a f***, do you... but if you expect me to support trans women using womens bathrooms, i aint wit it

This thread isn’t about that gtfo or stay on topic this has literally literally literally f*** all to do with any LGBT issues save it for another thread Jesus

Why should they? They have nothing to gain if they do and nothing to lose if they don’t. Only black people act like it’s their life purpose to get accepted by every race at all cost on some weirdo s***.

Most of the Asian people who replied to this thread were defensive and dismissive of factual examples levied against them instead of owning up and trying to start dialogue as to why their community acts this way. Few legends like @coze popped up with some insightful posts that I really appreciated.

Just about all my Black brothas and sistas went off as expected and I appreciate y’all resonating with me and voicing your opinions because I know so many individuals stories exist in this thread that are suppressed or disregarded but y’all were heard and I feel you.

    šŸ™šŸ¾

To the weird white people who butted into this thread posting all type of nonsense; you niggas need legit mental help

And to the ā€œI don’t see colorā€ coons, I hope she notices!

I'm glad I was able to contribute to this topic of discussion. I say it how I see it as an Asian American. I'm not going to sugarcoat anything.

    Another factor to this:
The generations of Asians in the United States before me did not and do not have much solidarity as a race. They identify themselves with their ethnic groups (Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Thai, Cambodian, etc.) instead of "Asian" or "Asian-American." As immigrants, they can't even communicate to each other since there are so many different Asian languages. Thus, the thought of activism with respect to their own race never occurred to them. A Chinese man wouldn't care about what the Japanese in America went through with discrimination and internment camps during World War II. He doesn't see it as racial discrimination against all Asians.

Their mentality is strictly about providing for their families back home and any family members they might have here. They don't even understand that much English, so they don't even know about white propaganda making fun of them and dehumanizing them. They don't even know about the racist public policies made by the American government to discriminate against them. They were allowed entry into the United States for a better life and to provide for their families back home, so they thank the white man for his "help," unaware of the racist, oppressive ideologies this country was founded on.

White people didn't teach children of Chinese railroad workers about how their fathers were dehumanized and emasculated. White people didn't teach children of Chinese railroad workers about the Chinese Exclusion Act. Instead, they brainwashed these Asian kids into thinking white people were always their friends, that Asian people are the "model minority."

Generally, Asian grownups have this mentality of avoiding conflict whenever possible and, instead, focusing on making money and being providers for the family. They teach this to their kids, so a lot of us tend not to care about racial issues at all, even issues that directly affect our community.

But things are changing, or so I hope. I've seen more fellow Asian Americans become aware and concerned not just about anti-Asian sentiments, but about the systematic oppression black people in America have long endured. Like I've said before, having a dialogue with each other is a necessity, so I'm thankful for a discussion like this. For Asian Americans fluent in English and knowledgeable about American history like myself, there's no excuse for us not to talk about race relations and to call out racism whenever we see it.

black people really in america fighting for feminists, lgbt, mexicans, china and all that s*** but when they fighting for themselves them niggas nowhere to be found. s*** is comedy

You had a point but there are black women, black LGBTQ+, Afro-Mexicans, etc,.

And being apart of one or more oppressed minority groups but also being black changes everything.

Our black LGBTQ+ brothers and sisters suffer more than white LGBTQ+, and are actively discussing this and the fact that LGBTQ+ movements ignore the race aspect... It's a complicated topic.

A black transwoman threw the brick at Stonewall and they actively white wash the history of Stonewall, etc,.

I take back everything I said in this thread. I was trynna flirt with some Asian girl at this bar last night and she called me a nigga then her homie (also Asian) told me she grew up in the city that’s why she speak like that.

I’m genuinely confused as to why I didn’t punch him in the face.

    Insane night

  • Bro deadass. They’ve been quiet asf. This is why I tell black people on social media to not be so quick to defend other races. Because when we’re the ones in hot water nobody comes to our defense. We’re too quick to form ā€œunityā€ but the energy is never returned to us. We don’t need allies, f*** all that.
