Kamal Gray of The Roots was one of my neighbors so I got into Hip Hop early probably since Kindergarten or First Grade; Listened to The Roots, J Dilla, Badu, Common and on the flipside a lot of No Limit, Hot Boys, Three 6 Mafia etc.
But I didn't start understanding Hip Hop until the Fourth Grade

For sure, I will. I need to ask, though: Which era of Prince is your favourite one? Because to be frank, mine is, hands down, the "Mayte" era; circa December 1990 to December 1996.
"Mayte" era is a unique choice! Diamonds and Pearls have sone of my favorite Prince tracks! Most focus on early 80's, but I am a stan of Sign O' The Times and Batman.
My favorite Prince material is from 1987 to 1990! Sign O' The Times is my favorite album.

Oh, yes; "Sign O' the Times," "Camille," "Dream Factory," & the original variant of "Crystal Ball..." those were the times too, man, I must admit, goddamn. & "Diamonds and Pearls..." with Rosie, Tony (albeit not nearly adored as much as Ms. Gaines for reasons), The Steeles, Kirky J., & even some Michael & Sonny... "Cream," "Horny Pony," "Schoolyard," "Strollin'," "Walk Don't Walk," "Willing and Able," etc... it's a hell of an underrated era as well, for sure!
Moreover, as of late, I've been noticing way more praise for "Batman" than, let's say, five years ago... therefore, it seems like the general public has finally been appreciating the project, just like they should have when they'd put the album out, to be frank. Also, undoubtedly, my favourite tunes on the project are "Electric Chair," "The Future," "Scandalous," "Trust," "Vicki Waiting," & its B-Sides: "Feel U Up" & "I Love U in Me."
I started actively looking for it at 12 around 2005. The good ol days. Right before lime wire era
