Precisely when he dropped Berzerk and MMLP2...

He became less counter culture, very poppy and was more rappity rappity.

Revival took it to new levels. That was the first time I passed on an Em album. I skimmed through it and never came back.

    classic song

if anything tho he became corny when he went back being blond and his shady persona for LP2. recovery was him coming to terms with being an addict and s***, i can see some of the instrumentals on that album being labeled as corny but the actual content was actually quite mature for em.

on the other hand u got him wildin out with 40+ years old on LP2 so idk about recovery being the starting point ppl were just mad he didn't return how they wanted him to back then.

He’s always been corny, but corny doesn’t have to be an inherently bad thing. He just became truly awful in 2010.

    This right here

Its not about him but about me imo, I grew up and startedto look at s*** different

I honestly look back at the s*** that had me hype from him when I was young and I cringe, he’s really only a kid’s rapper

    CONFUSED

This is why he keeps getting positive overall feedback from casual rap fans, edgy kids will always exist and find his music entertaining plus on top of that you also have his core fanbase thats pretty big

I'd say MMLP2 era for sure

Eminem's biggest problem is that, at least musically, he got old but he didn't mature in terms of his content album for album.

He does have mature content, but he doesn't flex that aspect of his music as much as he flexes the Slim Shady Horrorcore or Rapping Rapping aspects of his skillset.

Even Tyler didn't really blow up huge until he dropped the edgy s*** and became more "normal" and relatable with his music.

Em should've continued the path he was going on with Recovery in terms of subject matter but he reverted to Slim Shady because fans kept complaining that Relapse and Recovery weren't good enough and they wanted old style Slim Shady back.

Em is a prime example of why artists should make the music that they feel they want to make in their heart vs making music to satisfy people if you're no longer in that mode that people want you in.

I honestly feel like the Slim Shady s*** just isn't truly him anymore and it shows in how forced those types of songs feel now.

The moment he dropped revival I officially said he’s a moron. Then proceeded to diss everyone who gave a honest opinion. You made a career off dissing people constantly then you wanna get sensitive wen it reverses

I can’t speak for everyone, but for me personally Eminem got corny once I grew up. I can’t even listen to the slim shady and mm lp all the way through. Just a select few songs.

  • Im not afraid

He became corny after he went back to black hair. So id say the Recovery era. Pop songs with pop artist hooks became his go to which is sad compared to how he made music before that. He should’ve just stood on the Relapse wave. His flow was still flawless and entertaining. And his voice pitch sounded good too. Now it’s just high pitched with a off beat flow.

I still enjoy sslp, mmlp and eminem show but i agree - some parts just seem mad corny, like the random disses and s***

eminem is a deeply insecure artist and the negative reception to relapse made him go full radio in order to win people back over. now he's doing rappity rap songs with joyner and logic because pop rap is no longer in style. he just does what he thinks people want.

Yea then you realized Em was like 27-28 doing that s***. I thought he was 20-24 doing all dat. I revisit his early s*** time to time because I liked him a lot growing up

  • Don’t think he became corny people just grew up and his brand of rap humor got left behind.

  • Nov 4, 2019

mans always been corny to an extent but probably around berserk

  • Nov 4, 2019

When you get older he becomes corny. That’s just how it works

  • There are multiple moments and reasons you can point to.

Growing out of your "real hip hop cringe lord" phase.
    Skylar Grey.
Joe Budden revealing that the way he dresses is a result of focus group testing.

    Countless other things...
