enjoy the last crumbs of art and culture while it's still around
not yet i haven't debuted. hold on twin.
I think people are misunderstanding exactly what business Netflix is in. Netflix is not in the television or movie business. Netflix is in the eyes on their screen business. It's why you can play f***ing Red Dead Redemption or Boggle on Netflix. It's why they're signing deals to put podcasts on their app. All they care about is subscriber numbers and how much time people spend with the Netflix app open.

oh?
loop me in when you do. my poetry book is in the books section. I bump it every other day but people probably won't realize I'm a creative genius until after I'm dead, unfortunately.
Warner / Discovery merger should of never been approved and it was obvious from day 1 that this was going to happen

What I am assuming is what the CEO has said from his own mouth. He wants to kill movie theaters.
Do you know who Netflix considers to be their biggest competitor? It’s not Disney. It’s YouTube. And now a company that views themselves as being in the same arena as YouTube owns Warner Bros
You’re making a fully valid case here, it’s just not how I think about this.
I don’t see this as a WB-Discovery merger where you just move on as 1 unit or even Disney-Fox which was the bigger company gaining infrastructure it knew how to deal with. This is a monumental industry shifter that doesn’t cleanly just continue along with Netflix’s current model as seamlessly as we might think. Industry will change, but so will they. This won’t be easy
It’ll be a status quo shift for the company too just like the other phases of its history and growth from rental to streamer to studio, etc.. We’ll have to see again tho assuming it happens. CEOs say one thing today and another thing tomorrow as situations alter

I just care about art.
Sometimes it feels like I care about it too much. I remember thinking during the pandemic... damn, people ain't working and where are they turning to for salvation? Art. Media. Entertainment. Sometimes I wonder if it truly is a bottomless pit. A renewable resource. But, year after year, I continue to be amazed and surprised. There's more in the tank for us. We gotta keep up the fight.
wonder what happens to HBO and max. will it become just a section on Netflix? Damn, Netflix won hard in the streaming war. Landing HBO is huge... they get DC, HP and GOT in their toolbox for future stuff, as soon as stranger things ends
like, could this lead to David fincher directing/producing some reaves batman stuff
