Fat f***
Make AI slop popular since were at this stage
No worries, that's already on the menu and will be happening very soon
Scorsese & his crusade to save cinema while collecting hundreds of million from the very corporations encroaching on the process lol
Y’all mad at Scorsese and not at the studios that weren’t willing to fund those two movies and give them wide releases
So it sounds like WB is going to keep doing what they’re doing BUT Netflix might just expedite how fast things go to streaming. I don’t think it’ll be like a week or two but a month? Sounds plausible.
And what I say a month I’m talking the traditional window. I’m going to use Superman as an example.
Superman hit theaters on July 11. It did well and eventually hit PVOD (digital purchase) on August 15, 35 days later. It would hit HBO on September 19, then Blu Ray on September 23.
By the time it hit HBO it was practically done in theaters. I do believe gone are the days where films play in theaters for months and months on end. I do unfortunately see a world where it’ll be 4-6 weeks before a streaming release for a big movie. They might do 2 weeks for a smaller movie that under performs, if they even put smaller movies in theaters.
I think the one thing that may unfortunately go away is physical media. Which for me, f***ing sucks man.
This whole thing f***ing sucks, top to bottom. Netflix for the most part puts out slop for the majority of the year until awards season, then those good movies have tiny theatrical runs. I’ve been lucky to see Frankenstein and Wake Up Dead Man in theaters but I know plenty of other people don’t have that opportunity. If anything I could see Netflix using the WB infrastructure to expand THOSE releases but that’s it.
There is however the regulatory process that still has to happen. There’s been pushback on both sides of the aisle for Netflix to make this transaction. I know when Disney bought Fox they had to give up all of the Fox cable and broadcast channels as well as Fox Sports. So I wonder what Netflix might have to give up to let this go through if they have to do so at all. Or, will the government make sure this doesn’t happen (which I hope they do, but they shouldn’t do it just so Paramount can buy them).
It’s a very, very sad day. But a day I’ve seen coming for quite some time. Not in this exact form. I always thought WB was going to get bought by Comcast and Netflix would buy Paramount, but Disney buying Fox opened the floodgates for massive consolidation in Hollywood. Unfortunately, I’m not sure this is the end of it either.
RIP Warner Bros.
this s*** was a dvd rental service man
You trust Netflix with handling IP like this??
Their anime series have been pretty consistently fire.
I’m just trying to find some silver-lining in this.
Netflix’s gung-ho attitude about green lighting projects can maybe, hopefully, lead to productions that wouldn’t be released otherwise. That’s pretty much the only think I can be hopeful about with this merger.
Wonder what’s gonna happen with the gaming division.

I'm usually with you tho
To be specific.. moments like the flash back of Grace's daughter when the tension and action starts to unwind before she lets them in. If a person had been paying attention to Grace or Bo's dialogue they wouldn't automatically question her decision, but the flashback gives viewers better context.
I’m just happy it’s not paramount skydance
That’s like the only good thing about this
hbo max my baby you will be missed
