I really would need multiple bullet points to understand how that could possibly be worse

I have 2 posts on this page doing just that
If deal would be in place already movies like Weapons and One Battle After Another wouldnt dare to even have a limited release
does this mean netflix owns all warner stuff now
yes and you will own nothing but a subscription

OBAA would’ve had that awards qualifying release to be fair

On the right

It’s not. People are assuming the absolute worst outcomes with Paramount while deluding themselves into believing Netflix won’t kill movie theaters

I think people are well aware that Netflix will potentially kill theaters, but that still would be the lesser of two evils compared to Paramount getting them
Netflix owns the wire now
Was gonna go see a movie today but there’s nothing I wanna see out right now that I didn’t already see
Booting up netflix!
On the right
@rayoflight they got everything on the right
Tbh the average consumer doesn’t care about theaters either
They just want their entertainment
the real elephant

Is the government having direct influence on national news not bad? Fox News has already been dismissed by most as conservative propaganda, but what happens when an organization such as CBS News and (if Paramount won) CNN starts doing the administrations bidding as well? CBS is already making that turn and CNN would have as well.
The fact that Trump apparently had direct influence on getting Rush Hour 4 greenlit showed that the government would’ve had direct control over what we see as well.
Are those two things not absolutely terrible?
I don’t like this current deal either at all, but at least the government isn’t going to tell Netflix “make Superman deport people” or some s*** like that.
the hierarchy of power at Netflix is about to change
We could get a proper LOTR anime series though.
Netflix does make an anime out of everything so most likely
Their anime series have been pretty consistently fire.
I’m just trying to find some silver-lining in this.
Netflix’s gung-ho attitude about green lighting projects can maybe, hopefully, lead to productions that wouldn’t be released otherwise. That’s pretty much the only think I can be hopeful about with this merger.
Wonder what’s gonna happen with the gaming division.
Respect for trying to stay positive… I just feel so bleak about it lol. Even for something like LOTR - I just look at what Disney as done to Star Wars… “more and more content” of these IPs is a scary approach to me
Bro they own HBO now?

And it's all ass too
