Ironically, it was WB that started off the decade with a release model of same day theatrical and streaming releases so they could aid their new service to rival Netflix. They don't care about theaters like that either and have shown it more than any major studio in Hollywood. During that thread in 2021 all we did was the same whining we're doing now

Something has to change. We can't just see alarm bells every couple years and claim the only path forward is the exact same theatrical model that serves no consumer. A decent sized family can't even afford to go to theaters most times anymore.

I love theatrical experience but I don't have sympathy for Hollywood here. Maybe a 100+ year model actually does need to change and meet the consumer where they are. Theaters were crafted with profits in mind, not out of the kindness of the hearts of golden age Hollywood.

Even if this fails, the worst thing would be just kicking the can down again.....
